Sulfatreat®

A very cost effective treatment method for Hydrogen Sulphide. Free flowing small granules which contain a formulation of iron oxides on an inert base. Iron pyrites (fools gold) is formed as a by product.  Ideal for applications which are unsuitable for normal activated carbon systems, due to high water content or fire risk.  Accurate residual life test available. Best results obtained with water saturated or high RH flows. The active chemicals will not get washed out. This is a major advantage over activated carbon.

Process can be used in the vapour phase, either aerobically or anaerobically or in the liquid phase for soluble sulphide control.

Aerobic

Ideal method for ventilation systems involved with sludge treatment, since low airflow rates and high H2S concentrations are involved.  No preheating of air required to reduce the RH. Typical bed depths are up to 1.0m.

Anaerobic

Method of choice for digester gas and landfill gas.  No upper limit to H2S concentration. Inert base material offers attractive safety benefits.
A lead/lag arrangement is often used for maximum economy.  Typical bed depths up to 2.0m.
Indefinite shelf life so systems can remain off line for long times until H2S levels require treatment.

Liquid Phase

Sour water, typically from wells is contacted with Sulfaclean in a packed tower. Elemental sulphur is formed, which can remain in the flow if water is used for irrigation. Also works well with solvents.
